Starting today on our blog is a whole month's worth of ideas on reading with your children, new books to check out at the library, thoughts on preparing little children to become full-fledged readers, and more! I'd love to have a few days where readers help provide content for a particular day. If you're interested in doing a guest post, send me an email at staceylea (at) gmail (dot) com! If you aren't raising young children right now, tell me what books you used to read with your kids, a memory of a favorite book, books that you hope to someday share with your children, or anything else! I came up with the title for this feature on our blog thinking it would be fun to have so many double o's in the phrase, but it works even better if you say Hoopes with the shorter "o" sound, much like the two different pronunciations for the word

My only thought for today is an important one (whether you are into books or into parties!). I encourage you to participate in celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday tomorrow on March 2nd by joining in for Read Across America Day, where the goal is for children to have time with an adult while they delight in the joy of a good book together!

Cool! I'm excited. We read almost non stop at our house. It's one of our favorite activities to do together-- as a family, as a couple and individually. Can't wait to learn more!
